Base32 Encoder is an online tool to encode binary data or text with control characters using Base32 (RFC 4648) encoding technique. The encoded text is comprised of only ASCII characters.

Input: Paste plain text below

Background Information

Base32 encoding is used to transmit binary data in an ASCII format. It is similar to Base64 but has some advantages over it:-

  • The output character set is all in one case (beneficial for case insensitive file sytsem such as windows)
  • The output can be used used as a filename because unlike Base64 it does not have the character '/' (Unix Path separator) in it
On the down side, it takes around 20% more space than Base64.

Settings Explained
  • 1. Split Long Lines

When this option is set, lines are wrapped after 75 characters for better viewing. However, the Copy Output button still copies the text as a single line so that it can be used directly with other tools.
